What is DistroTravel?
DistroTravel connects Senders (people who want to send a package) with Carriers/Travelers (people already traveling who have spare baggage capacity).
Core idea
- Hand-to-hand only: in-person pickup and in-person delivery
- Deal inside chat: the Carrier creates the Deal terms after discussing details in chat
- Escrow-style payment: funds are held as pending/escrow until delivery is confirmed
Delivery flow (5 phases)
- Create supply & demand: Carriers post trips, Senders post packages.
- Match engine: Compatible trips and packages appear for both users and wait for both to accept.
- Chat: A chat opens so both parties coordinate pickup and delivery details inside the platform.
- Deal + escrow: The Carrier creates the Deal terms; the Sender accepts; payment moves to pending/escrow.
- Delivery + payout: A Delivery page opens; the Carrier updates delivery status; once the Sender or Receiver confirms delivery, funds are released.
Payout split
After successful delivery confirmation, escrow is released:
- 85% to the Carrier
- 15% to DistroTravel
